Welcome on our websites. In the following, please find some information on how we handle your data pursuant to Art. 13 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data controller

Responsibility for the collection and processing of data as described below rests with the body named under ‘Company details’.

Utilisation data

When you visit our websites, so-called usage data is temporarily stored on our web server for statistical purposes as a log in order to improve the quality of our websites. This data record consists of

  • the page which requested the file,
  • the name of the file,
  • date and time of the request,
  • the data volume transmitted,
  • the access status (file transmitted, file not found),
  • the description of the type of web browser used,
  • The IP address of the requesting computer, which is shortened in such a way that a personal reference can no longer be established.

The above log data is stored anonymised only.

Data transmission to third parties

In the frame of data processing on our behalf according to Art. 28 GDPR, we transfer your data to service providers who support us in the operation of our websites and the associated processes. Our service providers are strictly bound to our instructions and have signed the respective contractual commitments. They are for example providers offering hosting or web analyses.

Data transmission to third countries

We transmit some of the personal data to a third country outside of the EU. In this process, we ensured an adequate level of data protection in each case:

In the case of Google and Facebook (USA), an adequate level of data protection is based on the participation in the Privacy Shield agreement (Art. 45 para. 1 GDPR).

Cookies

We use cookies on our websites. Cookies are small text files which can be stored and read our on your end device. A distinction is made between session cookies, which are deleted again as soon as you close your browser, and permanent cookies, which are stored beyond the individual session. Cookies may contain data that make it possible to recognise the device used. In some cases, however, cookies only contain information on certain settings that cannot be related to individuals.

We use session cookies and permanent cookies on our websites. The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. f GDPR in the interest of optimising or enabling user guidance and adapting the presentation of our website.

You can set your browser so that it informs you about the placement of cookies. This makes the use of cookies transparent for you. By means of the corresponding browser setting, you can also delete cookies at any time and prevent the setting of new cookies. Please note that in this case, our web pages may not be displayed optimally and that some functions may no longer be technically available.

Google Analytics

With the help of Google Analytics, we create pseudonymous user profiles for the demand-oriented design of our website. Google Analytics uses cookies that can be stored on your end device and read by us. This allows us to recognise and count returning visitors. We process the data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. f GDPR and/or 15 para. 3 TMG (German Telemedia Act) to learn how often the different users call up our websites.

As a rule, the information on your use of these websites generated by the cookie are transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In the member states of the European Union, however, Google shortens your IP address before transmission of this data into the USA because we enabled IP-anonymisation on this website. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA (here, the participation of Google in the Privacy Shield ensures an adequate level of data protection pursuant to Art. 45 para. 1 GDPR) and shortened there. Furthermore, we concluded a contract with Google LLC (USA) for data processing on our behalf pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Google will therefore use all information strictly for the purpose of evaluating the use of our website for us and compiling reports on website activity.

You can object to the processing at any time. To do so, please use one of the following possibilities:

You can prevent the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en).

You can furthermore prevent data collection by Google Analytics by clicking the following link. This sets an opt-out cookie which permanently prevents the future collection of your data when you visit this website.

Data security

We take technical and organisational measures to protect you data as comprehensively as possible from unauthorised access. We use an encryption process on our websites. Your data is transmitted from your computer to our server and vice versa via the Internet by means of TLS encryption. You can recognise this by the fact that the lock symbol in the status bar of your browser is closed and the address line starts with

Google remarketing technologies

We use Google cross-device remarketing technologies so that, based on your visit to our websites, you can be shown targeted advertising on other websites. Data is processed on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. a GDPR.

How does remarketing work?

When you visit our websites, Google may retrieve identifier features for your browser or end device (e.g. by generating a so-called browser fingerprint), evaluate your IP address, or store an identifier feature in the form of a small text file on your end device (e.g. a so-called third-party cookie). Google may also link your visit to our websites to one or several of these identifier features and save this information to show you our advertisements on other Internet pages.

The above-described identifier features are designed as pseudonyms and can be used by Google to recognise your terminal device on other Internet pages. For example when you visit a website participating in the Google display advertising network (i.e. a website which displays advertising on behalf of Google), Google can recognise your end device and your browser by means of the above-named features.

We can furthermore provide our websites with so-called "remarketing tags". This means that we can to add keywords to our Internet pages which comprise information on the content of the displayed page (such as product or service categories). The keywords we are using neither point to personal data nor to sensitive information. Google receives these keywords and saves them together with the above-named identifier features. Accordingly, when you visit a page provided by us with a keyword pointing to a certain product category, Google saves this keyword and assigns it to your identifier features.

In this way, we can commission Google to display on other websites advertisements based on your visit to our Internet pages. Thus, when you visit another website which is also a member of the Google display advertising network, Google can recognise by way of the identifier features and the keywords saved and assigned to them if you should be shown our advertisements, and if so which of them you should see.

For more information on the functionality of Google remarketing technologies, refer to https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/

What is cross-device remarketing?

If you log in to Google services with your own login data or if you have one or several Google accounts of your own, Google can link the identifier features of various browsers and end devices. Thus, if Google has generated an individual identifier feature for each of the laptop PC, desktop PC, smartphone and tablet computer you are using, these identifier features can be assigned to each other as soon as you access or have accessed a Google service with your login data. In this way, Google can target our advertising campaigns directly beyond one single end device. However, Google will only do this if you allowed Google at some time in the past to process your data in this way.

You can make settings for how you wish to see advertising

You can object to this type of advertising at any time. To do so, please go to this page https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922 and disable personalised advertising. Please note that this setting may not be effective on all end devices and browsers. For more information, please go to https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922.

Facebook remarketing

This website uses the remarketing function "Custom Audience" by Facebook Inc. ("Facebook"). This function is used to present to visitors of this website advertising tailored to their interests ("Facebook ads") in the frame of their visit to the social network Facebook. To this end, a Facebook tracking pixel was implemented on this website.
When you visit the website, this tracking pixel establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. In this process, the Facebook servers are informed of your visit to this website, and Facebook assigns this information to your personal Facebook user account. For more information about collection and use of the data by Facebook and about your respective rights and options for protecting your personal data, please refer to the Facebook privacy statements at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/."

You can disable the remarketing function "Custom Audiences" on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads&section=oba&view . To do so, you must be logged in with Facebook.

Embedded YouTube videos

On some sub-sites, YouTube videos are embedded in our websites. When you call these sub-sites up, YouTube contents will be uploaded. In this context, YouTube will also receive your IP address which is technically required to call up the contents. We generally have no influence on the way YouTube handles its further processing. However, when embedding the videos we made sure to enable the extended data protection mode offered by YouTube.

Google Maps

We use Google Maps to represent maps and to produce route maps. Google Maps is provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, U.S.A. When you are using information of Google Maps, for example by clicking on one of our locations listed there, it is possible that information about your utilisation (in particular the IP address of your computer) is transmitted to a server of Google LLC in the USA and stored there, as far as we know. Processing personal data by using technically necessary cookies and your IP address is based on the legal basis of Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f GDPR in the interest of making our website as optimal as possible for you. We do not have any influence on the further processing of data by Google LLC. Please also read the conditions of using Google Maps if you want to use that service. Cookies may be used to this end. Cookies are small text files which are stored in the visitor’s Internet browser so that the browser can be identified at the next visit.

The collected data which may also comprise personal data are transmitted to WiredMinds or collected by WiredMinds directly. WiredMinds is allowed to use information left during visits to the website to generate anonymised usage profiles. As far as IP addresses are collected, they will be anonymised immediately after collection by deleting the last numbers block.

The collection, processing and storage of data can be objected to at any time with effect for the future. Exclusion from website tracking.
